Repair Gun

Is it possible to create a gun that instead of inflicying damage, that it gives hull back, We are currently in our thinking stage for a new mod, one of our ideas is a faction called GA (guardian Angles) that are a they to repair you.

This, i think is not possible with NPC's but if people wish to take on the role as Emergencey services so to speak could do.

If this does not work is it possible to make a nano missile?

Did you try adding a minus to the damage number? like -100 ...

I'm guessing though that you won't be able to do this ... weapons are hardcoded to do damage I think ...

Sorry to say this has been posted a while ago abd they found that giving the weapon negative damage acually results in very high damage instead. The only real way is to have ships with very high nano and shield capacity. Not very interesting i know, but their you go.

lol, Yes i had already tried applying a minus sign, still dont get why it increases the hull it takes down tho, with regards to the increasing the payout of the nano bots and bats, which file is that in, i have search misc_equip.ini and misc_good.ini but i am somwhat confused on how you change it, all i see is the hit points for both, is this the number i need to change?

You can change the payload each wepon gives by going to the weapon_equip.ini file. If you look for lines in the test referring to hull_damage = ### you can edit the amount that the gun/missile gives out

When I said I was guessing you wouldn't be able to do this because the weapons are hardcoded to do damage, I was speaking of your repair service, not changing weapon hull and energy values.

I know how to do that hehe.

lol, sry dude i miss understood, hows the gathring of them tutorials coming along? But getting back to topic, well that just sucks it is a good concept but i am determined to get this working, but so im not friving to a dead end, has anyone done some proper work into this or not? If they have and they come out with nadda i wil stop my persue of this idea straight away

For increasing the abilities of the nanos and shield gens it is the hitpoints in misc_equip.ini. There are two entries, the one without archetype is the actual equipment and the other one is the loot appearance.
Other than that, you could increase the holding abilities for certain ships in shiparch.ini

For an idea:

You could have the repair ship have a huge amount of nanos, and they could fly up to you and drop them for you to pick up.

Unfortunately this would only work with human players as the repair service. (unless there is a way to make NPC's do this, but I haven't seen one)
