problems editting IDS

i'm trying to create new IDS files for some equipment i've added to the game... the equipment is already there and works fine using existing IDS numbers, but when i try and create new name and info for it, it won't let me

ok, so, i've read, and used Chips very clear IDS Tutorial, using the tools he named there

when i try and use the new dll file, i've added the dll to the EXE folder, added it to freelancer.ini, it appears in the dropdown menu on FLEd-ids, and i can generate its first entry number (655360)
however, if i do a get-ids name for that number, instead of giving me a blank page and something like DLL #9 - aden.dll - Table 233 - ResID 3713 or whatever it just says Invalid ID
if i try and save something to that DLL it says, invalid DLL, won't let me save

ok, so i've got a mod installed that i'm changing a bit myself, that has its own DLL, and i know that some of the entries for that DLL aren't used, so i call up a blank number from that one and it shows up fine, but when i try and save to this i get an error message that reads
Error: BeginUpdateResource failed: 19

whats going on? why is my own dll invalid (the freelancerEmpty.dll suggested in Chips tutorial, not one i've made myself)
and why can't i then save to an existing dll?

cheers, Aden

actually, problem self solved

if you add a new new dll AFTER the FLMM DLL it won;t be recognised, though i don;t know why. once i switched my custom dll and the FLMM dll around, mine worked fine, and could be updated...
