Editing Trent''s face

Are there any mods that have alternative reskinned Trent's face? Alone.

Also are there any tutorials on this how it can be done? Editors?

Thanks.

There's dark Trent and Alien Sampler that comes with the newest version of FLMM. It changes Trents head and clothes, and give dealers differnt faces like Darth Maul.

There was a tutorial and I can't find the link. Is it at the Freeworld forum?

simply extract the textures and edit them with eg. photoshop
put the textures back in the dfm
et voila

i recommend using DDS files instead of the stock tga's - simply because it saves the labor of resizing the file over and over again.also, if you're making a clone(eg you want it to appear different when in the same room as its template model) you need to rename the materials in its file - just search around with the UTF editor and find the mat references, you don't need modelcloner

Finalday I am aware of the Dark Trent mod but I don't like that mod very much because it messes up the whole game. I don't want people running around with Darth Vaders head and similar things. Not to mention having a main character with red eyes!!

All I'd want is Trent with a bit longer hair, maybe different hair color and a bit different eyebrows. Thats all.

Anyway what program should I use to extract files? I am not really into Freelancer graphic modding but I am a quick learner.

the UTF editor(see the stickied utilities thread) - you'll also need nvidia DDS plugin to generate your new DDS files, its designed for photoshop but if its installed correctly(directory name differs from PS' "plug-ins" to PSP's "plugins" folders)it works with paintshop too.one more basic, DDS files are named .tga in the texture library, so the way to distinguish them is that true targas are always in a MIP0/1/etc node whereas DDS is in a MIPS node because it contains all its own mipmaps. also, making trents hair physically longer isn't possible, although you could make a helmet like wig for him - but, you probably meant lengthening its texture
