Changing F6 Menu Map Background

Hi

I am in the process of begining to make a total conversion mod for freelancer,
however i want to change the map background to fit the new mod i am makeing i also will want to delte the names from the map. i was hopeing someone might spare the time to tell me how both of thease are done.

Well, basically, to get you started..
Open up:
DATA\INTERFACE\NEURONET\NAVMAP\NEWNAVMAP\nav_prettymap.3db
with utf_edit
Then open up the texture library, fancymap.tga, mip0
and choose export call it a .tga pic file then modify it to you what u are looking for. Then save as an uncompressed tga and import it back into the mip0 and its all done.
Editing the names is already covered in a thread recently so you'll find the answers there. With that one you can remove or rename the names, but in order to move them it requires exe hacking and head scratching. Most people just change them for a space instead.
