Catastrophy!

A most terrible thing happened.

My smaller HDD drive, the one that houses all of my MODs, models nad textures has become unacessable!

I'm trying to recover the data, but so far I havn't been sucesull..

to make things worse, my webspace, where I have put all the latest stuff hasgone down for good.

Now if I can't bring back the data, the only way to get al least some of my stuff back is for those of you who downloaded all those model packs while the webspace was up, to send them back to me.
Dont start yet tough..I?m still trying to fix the damn thing..

I'll get back to you. Happy modding!

Happened to me before - lost 3 months of modding work

Hopefully you'll recover your work or have people with the copies.

The best part of Lancers Reactor is that if you added your mod to their downloads, it's pretty much there forever, so if you ever do lose that work and just added a file to LR, you got yourself a thrid back up. Well for me at least it is a thrid back up.
:O

EDIT!
Hey now I remember who you are just by thinking about your name a little longer.
Don't worry, if you lose your work I still got all of those models you shown here and I think I did grab a few more from your site. I haven't tryed to convert them to FL, I've been busy. If you want I can package them up if you want them.

Thank you. Now I know where to look

B.t.w. - it looks like my HDD is PHISICLY damaged and data recovery can't be made on it. In theory, if I copy the whole HDD on a new one I can make hte recovery there.

I will put that theory to test soon...

MY atempt at data recovery failed so now I have to ask that some of you who have DL'ed my packs of meshes send them back to me.

To avoid flooding my inbox, plase post here which zip/rar pack you're sending me BEFORE you send it.

you can send them to either:

[email protected]
OR
[email protected]

Thank you :d

that's very bad luck mate,
I just had a panic myself,my Mainboard blew and at 1st i thought it'd damaged my SATA drive with all my mod work for the new server mod comming out in oo..a month or so on it...and i thought i'd lost it!

Luckily i managed to get the drive to work.

All i can say is good luck and i hope the good people of TLR will forward you the files

43 Megs?

I don't recall there were that many.

I put up several rars with the meshes and two with UV mapped meshes+textures.
Hmm.. Well, thanks, I'll DL it once I get to my college (T1 connection there)

Try YouSendIt, allows you to send large files via email, and you follow the link in there, its temporary storage basically. Something like 14 days and then its gone, up to 1GB files.

Yea, the Archangel, and a lot of other models of your site I took off to see them, the zip also has that mod with the two ships already made for Freelancer. Didn't bother looking through all ship models, but I am sure that they all are yours, I had them in a file on my desk top.

I know this advice may be too late, but the last time my HD was physically damaged, I used Knoppix (Linux on a CD) to recover some of my files off of it. It's not the easiest process, but if it is possible to mount the drive, that will do it. On mine, the MBR was totally screwed, but I got the rest of the data off. Of course, if you don't know anything about Linux, you may have some trouble.

I have become one with my computer. It is a feeling of ecstasy...the perfect blend of logic and emotion. I have reached...Nerdvana!
