Energy Batteries?

Can you change say shield Batteries to give energy instead of shield power.

What im trying to do is have depletable fuel, and atm its set up so that running your engines depleates energy to the point were your energy reserve = 0.then the engines dont work. But then i want u to beable to do is buy Fuel reserves ie.(shield bats) that when avtived would give u more energy (fuel).

So u can fly a little further.

Any ideas as to were the shield bat .ini entry is kept? and how would i change it to give energy instead of shield power?

Im looking for something like:
Give_shield = 200
to change to
Give_energy = 500

If that even exists anywhere?

Doesn't exists to my knowledge.

And...

I don't want imagine what happens if you are between Point A and Point B and your fuel is over!

I don't think you can really change the shield batts like that (btw they're in misc_equip.ini), but you might be able to make a gun with ammo that uses negative energy. Haven't tried it though so I don't know if it would work.

- engery will be unlimited energy, from what I know FL counts numbers such as -1 or -300 bah bah as unlimited in the guns. (This would have the gun use unlimited engery thus making it impossible to use.)

The only way I would know how to do this is to makee powerplants with very high energy and then once they run out they will need to land on a base or planet to refill on engery, you can do this with power and thruster, this will not effect someone's engine, they will still beable to go at the normal speed.

Having limited engery is a good idea but can have it's flaws.

Could always make the engines destructible, that way you'd have to use thruster power to get urself out of bother.... unless u make the powerplants destructible of course lol
I've tried this using the aforementioned method and it does work, in other words beef up your powerplants and feed the energy to everything else, closest you'll get to simulating fuel imo

I heard in some mod that they got it so using cruise engines would recharge your energy, unfortunately I don't remember which mod it was.

Hearing and knowing are two major different things.
In fact flying around in cruise drains energy.

I've tryed this before and it doesn't work that well, after you run out of energy you just go back in forth from cruise very fast and it's very annoying. The reason you never see your energy drain in the game is becuase your powerplant is recharging faster then what the engine can drain.
