i was going to make a ship that fired the beams from it's 4 wings and then turn into a massive destructo-beamwhen they combined!

also, is it possible to toggle between death star beam and 4 separate guns? like when they all fire 1 beam it drains all your energy but kills them in one hit? it's probably not but it could be...

Um... if you did that, then you would have to wait a long time to recharge to full power to shoot another guy... which means that in multiplayer pvp if you missed you'd be dead in no time. In single player it would mean that you'd be mobbed by a lot of guys and be able to shoot one down and wait a minute or two for the next guy. Unless you cheat and make your power automatically recharge. Also, I'm sure that you would have to set the weapon's power to a certain amount, so if you got another ship with less power you wouldn't be able to use the gun. I guess it might be possible to have it do 100% of your power instead of a number, but since all the guns in the game do it by a specific number I really doubt they made a way to do that in the game, even with mods.
