Couple Problems - New Ship

hey all, i recently (about an hour ago), had a shot at making my own ship for FL, i got it working first try (which is a first for me), but i encountered 3 things that kind of annoy me:

1: AI with the ship are invisible, and so are other human players that use it

2: gun fire hit the shields prefectly, but when the shields go, the guns just go through the ship (i think this is because of #1)

3: (again, i think its cause of #1) whenever i go near a base, i can get my wings, and pretty much all of my hull into the station 'walls' before i finally bounce off of a very small damage counter in the centre of my ship

so yeah, id like to know how to get the ship visible to other players, and fix the ships hull damage thingo...any answers will be much appreciated...

1: LODranges are probably of, for a custom ship set them (in the shiparch.ini) to - LODranges = 0, 9999
As most custom ships only have one LOD in the CMP using the normal setting means that your ship vanishes at about 40m.

2 & 3: No or badly fitting SUR file, copy a Vanilla SUR and rename it to match your ship's CMP name, use HardCMP to see them and try and pick a rough match to your ship CMP, you then need FLModelTool from the d/loads, start it and you'll see two tags "CMP" & "SUR", select the cmp and "open" your model, on the right you'll see two sets of info "New" & "Original" they should be different from each other. Click "save" and overwrite your CMP file with the fixed version, now select the "SUR" tag and "open" your sur file. Select the "resize" and a new window will open, select the "automatic(to cmp)" option, the "ship/station" one and check the last one then "OK", it will ask you if its to use the model cmp you just saved, select "Yes" then "save" your new sur by overwriting the old one.

**shuffles of with a new headache**
