Custom Rumor Question

I have read many of the threads and tuts on rumors and it seems to always point to sticking custom rumors into dll file which was what I wanted to avoid (would like to script them). I have made a new system with a few bases but can't seem to get the custom rumors to work. Everything else is seems fine ie. encounters, mission board missions, NPC missions, bribes etc., but only get an empty balloon for rumors. Has someone found a trick to script custom rumors or am I doomed to putting them into a dll?

Its the job that's never started that takes the longest to finish.

i think that is a known problem with FLMM's dll generation,i believe its on the next fix list
