Hello there

Im confident you cant remember me, but I can certainly remember you. I havent been around in a while. I discovered that progress has been on the issue of SUR files.

Have the modders got to the stage where they can give cylinder-like models the ability to except ships through them? Im asking this because one of the ideas I had, was to create racing tracks in a new and unique way.

I was going to create these tracks using fairly complicated (for freelancer anyways) models such as for instance, this:

Im not really the technical guy when it comes to modding but I still come back here in the hope that advances have been made in key areas such as SUR files.

cheers

Not ready yet. Very interesting idea though, actually very similar to one I had in mind when we finished the SUR Exporter

I might be able to build such a thing with the current Beta. But... to be perfectly real here... I need to get the next version of Toolkit done, which is eating all of my time (other than helping to beta-test the current FLMM, answer people's random questions, etc., etc.)

one of the two jumphole surs has a concave cylinder shape - its fluted at one end but the farther you stretch its Z axis the less noticeable it is...i have used this to make a 'tunnel' before - my purpose was to create a restricted access jumphole that wouldn't accept any ships over a certain size, and the sur worked beautifully.hope this is helpful
