Change of System Background

I want to change the background of a system with with new Nasa-pics. No idea how to do it, because the pics have an unknown ending.

Does anyone got information about this matter?

I guess that is the relating part to it, but I cant change something. There is a graphic format cmp out there, but it is not compatible with the freelancers cmp.

[Background
;basic_stars = solar\starsphere\starsphere_stars_caps.cmp
basic_stars = solar\starsphere\ct.bmp
complex_stars = solar\starsphere\starsphere_bw06_stars.cmp
;complex_stars = solar\starsphere\ct.bmp
nebulae = solar\starsphere\starsphere_bw06.cmp

Any idea where to go from here?

not totally sure where the problem is... take the cmp... open it... extract the texture ... edit the texture and import it again

Cmp files in Freelancer are mostly 3D mesh files for objects.

What OP-R8R means is get the utf-edit prog from the downloads and open the starshere.cmp with it, this will allow you to see what format the texture is in (.tga or .dds).

These 2 formats are all that Freelancer uses.
