New Base - Neural Net Inventory/Commodity Trader - Trade Rou

New Base - Neural Net Inventory/Commodity Trader - Trade Routes - Not showing new base in list of visited bases

Have set the appropiate visit = values so the new bases show on the Nav Map when using them as a start location (and Manhattan doesn't). New bases are not showing in the Neural Net Inventory/Commodity Trader - Trade Routes list, even after visting many other bases.

Have searched through tuturials and used the new Google search feature to no avail. Please can anybody shed some light on this issue.

Oh, that one is an easy fix. In universe.ini, there has o be bases at the top and systems at the bottom. So you just move them to the top bit. Nice and easy..

Thanks M-A-C-E_166. Just ran a sucsseful test.

My resurected Ithaca Research Station still won't work. I did notice that the original comodities were set to next to nothing so at this point I am assuming it is purposley ignored by FL. A change of nickname so that it looks like a different base should cure that one.

What part of ithaca dosen't work? is it just the commodities showing up or other things?
You would need to change the archetype of the original ithaca as it dosen't allow berths. Changing it to "space_police01" would fix that.
One of us from here could help you fix whatever the problem is.

Thanks for the offer.

Ithaca has been rebuilt, complete with equipment and commodities. I have used space_police01 with space_industrial and trading_outpost_li_01 loadout on both pieces. The remaing wrekage is still in place with three hazard bouys. All those Rouge attacks make it non-viable to clear wrekage as well. Ithaca has been taken over by the Navy. The Battleship Nostromo is trying to keep the Rouges at bay.

The Battleship Nostromo is complete with personal, all renamed from a custom dll. With your advice concerning universe.ini the Nostromo now apears in the Trade Route list. That completes the battleship.

The research on Ithaca is classified but Alien Artifacts are at a multiple of 5, the previous highest in the game being 4.75.

The plan is to have news around Liberty space that all is well at Ithaca with rumours that Alien Artifacts are in demand. The Navy will deny this. News at Rouge bases will warn of Rouges being captured and taken to Ithaca never to be seen again. Hence the constant attacks on the base.

The problem is I can not get Ithaca to appear in the Trade Routes list. This is important to conferm that Alien Artifacts are indeed in demand at the base and the Navy is up to something shady.

Being an original part of universe.ini it is in the correct place. I have tried to alter the nicknames (Li01_05_base and Li01_Ithaca_station_1) but the Trade Route list is still blank of any reference. Changing one of those nicknames results in the docking vid/voice not working anyway.

If FL is purposley ignoring Ithaca I can not work out how. Due to Ithaca being in the proper place in universe.ini I am left with a small bit of detail giving me a big problem.

Well, the name of ithaca is not linked to its system nickname, its linked to the mbase entry. So you could just rename the base and add a separate entry in mbase with the same gcs.
I wouldn't have thought that they would hardcode ithaca not to appear as it was never dockable in the first place.
Actually.... (shuffles through SDK)..
..The mbase for ithaca isn't there anyhow. This is it:

Got to get the award for the least mbase entry. So, if you have it as a dockable base the speech would be wrong anyway. Did you add your commodities in market_commodities to the original base? Or did you add an entry?

Didn't get far with SP so I wasn't awear that Ithaca was always undockable. Being a Frontier Elite fan I prefer MP.

I have useed the Adv. Unofficial Freelancer Patch version 1.4 by Buck Danny as its seed. All alterations are with xml scripts so allowing the seed to be updated with ease.

The MBase entry for Li01_05_Base is the same as SDK. No msg_id_prefix, but the voice does work. Strange but true. The MBase entry has not been modified yet so no personel at Inthaca. I will work on the MBase entry next and see if the gcs does more than reference voices_space_male.ini and voices_space_female.ini.

Commodites are a 'sectionreplace'. With the original cost values the commodities failed to show in a ships hold, whilst docked, as well as at the base itself. That had me going for a bit.

Fingers crossed the mBase modding will cure the problem. Thanks for direction. I'll post the outcome either way.

After moding mBase, Ithaca has personel and still no reference in the trade route list.

The gcs voice is not for the docking voice/vid but for the radio voice you here from the base to other ships due to an encounter zone being present.


msg_id_prefix = gcs_refer_base_Li01_03_Base

"This is Battleship Missouri were are you heading." for example.


msg_id_prefix = gcs_refer_base_Li01_05_Base

"This is _ were are you heading." for example.


Using the above line results in no mention of a base as there is no voice recording for Inthaca. The below entry put into voices_space_male.ini and voices_space_female.ini to ensure the duration of the message.

Having a partial message, I think, is better than the wrong message. If there is a wish list for FL2 then a generic message to handle the blank gap would be good.

Even after changing mBase Li01_05_base to Li01_23_base and all other appropiate references there still is no mention to Ithaca in the Trade Route list. Short of this problem Ithaca base is now complete. An alternative that I would rather not use is to say that the research at the base is so classified there is no mention of its commodities in the Trade Routes list.

So, by adding this, what do you hear? If you hadn't added this entry it still tries and says, "i'm going to..(and then stops)".
I can't believe that Ithaca is hardcoded not to appear on the trade list, but try renaming it with a new ids_name. If you have changed it to be li01_23 as well, that should remove any link to the previous Ithaca.

Cracked it! Oh yeh! (does silly dance around the room)

Li01.ini - ids_name = 196770

Replaced with custom dll reference to show name as New Ithaca Station.

Ran game and tooltip showed new name but ticker name in docking bay showed old name and still not in Trade Route list.

Universe.ini - strid_name = 196770

Replaced with custom dll reference to show name as New Ithaca Station.

Ran game and bingo. Ticker shows new name and Trade Route list is positive, I repeat, TRADE ROUTE LIST IS POSITIVE.

So either FL is hardcoded to ignore strid_name = 196770 or Ithaca Research Station as a value. I'm sticking with the new name any how.

The sound stuff. All radio chatter is complete with the exception of the station name being dropped. Bit strange but not as strangs as pulling up to New Ithaca Station and being told "This is Manhattan . . ."

Thanks for being there whilst I nearley went mad. A few more tweaks to New York and I'll post the mod for all to enjoy.
