Try holding the left control button down and use the mouse scroll wheel and and ajust the size.

I don't know if it will help in freelancer, but if you hold shift+ctrl and press < or > you can change the size of the text. Think it might be only in work though.
Is this a problem that is just in Freelancer or is it system wide? Are you a modder? What knds of things have you changed? I can't see any options for font size in freelancer.
Do you know what resolution the game is running at?

When you set your in-game resolution to something high (1280x960-1024 or above if you are on a good computer, generally 1024 on an old computer) your font will become larger and bold-faced. Try reducing the resolution and see if your font goes back to how it used to be.

if you have the freelancer sdk 1.3 files, just goto DATA\Fonts\Fonts.ini

hey. To answer many questions, yes it is only in freelancer, not in windows.
B. I've tried to make the resolution the lowest (and lowest bit) 640..... but no dice.
C. I've also installed the SDK pack and still nothin!

Ive played it before with its normal fonts so i cant understand why it suddenly changed.
It also is not from any mods, ive restored the files and shut off all mods but still nothin.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Have you tried copying over the contents of the \fonts\ folder from the FL CD to the Windows fonts (usually c:\windows\fonts\) folder on your harddisk?

I answerd you twice....

Get a new CD ROM drive then, after all - you're never going to be able to install any software ever again without one, or a DVD drive instead. They only cost about £10 these days....

Then just reinstall. Since its a hardware fault, try replacing it - its not expensive, especially since you will need the CD to play the game anyway...
