FLEd IDS...

How in gods name do you start that program...I make the gamepath and everything...and then what? Why isn't there a button for ok or something...this is just stupid...

Well, normally you just type in a number similar to the ones in SDK for equipment or shipnames/info etc ant it shows you whats at that location. So, you just find a spot that isn't aleady used and save the entry.

There are resources that are at TLR that have the ids_name numbers for just about everything and if you haven't got it yet, you will need the latest SDK.

You might want to get hold of the blank dll thats available for download too and use that for the entries as it has space for both names and infocards.

Some of the entries in names_resources are linked to other dlls, so its best not to add to that one unless you need to. There's plenty of space there, but if you want to add things like new factions and have them stated properly with random missions its best to save the names resources places for them.

Another option is to get hold of the Arghs toolkit. Its got a bunch of useful stuff and shows how to add items to the game without using FLEd_IDS. You can use XML to generate the name and info instead.

No...no....I am talking about simply running the FLEd-ids. It worked before but now I don't know what button I need to press....I make the gamepath and everything but nothing happens...the list just doesn't appear. I try to put in the ids_info or ids_name and it says that freelancer.ini isn't there...It's driving me crazy....

Post Tue Sep 06, 2005 2:25 pm

the problem is that Freelancer.ini is not there, or if it is there the make sure the line

DLL = dllname.dll ;blablabal
DLL = dllname2.dll ;blablabla2

and stuff like that is in it, thats where it gets the information on what infocards are in the game, so

DLL = infocards.dll ; this ones for the infocards
DLL = SO2.dll ; This ones in the SquareOwnz Mod :p

help?

It's all in there...the list just doesn't appear....I make the gamepath and then nothing happens...I know I should press something but I don't know what.....

well you click the box that says '...' next to the file path and locate way to Freelancer dir or mod dir,

thn files should pop into the box, click on resource ID, enter 1 and click convert, copy the nimber into ids_name and click Get ids_name,

that should be it..

That is the whole point...the list doesn't pop up in the box....I don't know what to do...it worked normally before...

Actually when I first started it I had the same problem but then it just worked...now it's doing it again....I am going crazy over here...

Oh jesus....I got it....I feel so stupid now.
What I did was I was making the path to program files/microsoft game/freelancer/exe but when it should just simply go to program files/microsoft game/freelancer....LOL! Nevermind...
