Invisible Docking Ring?

Is it possible to make a invisible docking ring? Or maybe make an astroid the docking ring to blend in with an astroid field.

Thanks.

hmm, we were musing about that. What you need to do is make a custom for the docking ring (like freeworlds did) except make the only have a single vertex. Then it will be invisible.

I highly suggest that if you do this, you rename then docking "points"

My Pretty Planet Project makes it possible to have a planet that has no docking rings whatsoever. Please view that topic thread in 3D Modeling.

Or try the Planetary Beacon Concept mod from EOA, it in the downloads.

Argh: Where in the Pretty Planet Project? It must have slipped by me.

Bejaymac: Is the docking ring actually invisible or is it a visible modell?

Thanks for the help.

couldn't u just make a unique docking ring entry and remove the sur file and mat entries? Then it would be invisable and you couldn't bump into it.

that would be the easiest, although there may be specail coding for dockability. Not that i'd know

@ Zaraz , there isn't a docking ring, the mod adds a new .cmp file that you use instead of the docking ring and yes it invisable.

Pretty planet link you'll find the dl link here.
