Things I need to know is possible or not...

Well.
I've set my mind on creating a total conversion for freelancer, a Halo mod, with all the ships (and a few more) And systems (and a lot more) from Halo 1 & 2. It's not going to be very much like FL at all, but more on that later. for now, i need to know if these things can be done, or if they are utterly, utterly impossible and i should be ashamed of even asking.

1) Is it possible to create a large (500-1000m in diameter should be fine) jumphole with other looks?

2) You know how it looks when your shield gets hit? The visual effect? . well, i want to make that big. So big that it can cover a 30m area. So you can see that you've hit the enemy and that you can see you've just scratched his shield.Possible?

3) Please tell me it's possible to delete all the original systems. PLEASE tell me it's just as easy as deleting the .ini files for those systems.

4) Is it possible to dock at a ship thats moving? And is it possible to dock at a player controlled ship?

5) Is there no way FL can support a ship thats over a 1000 polys? Are cap ships over?

6) I want to disable rigth mouse button firing. yes, you heard me. I want you to hit for example the missile button for the flak turrets, and some other button for the main guns.

7)eeh...will add more when i can think of it.

1. You can change the model for the jump gate but I dont not know of the maximum size, how to increase the size of the effect.

2. I dont know about thoughs effects.

3. I think you are allowed to delete all the systme files as long as you recreate the files in the same way and change the player start.

4. Not possible as far as I know, but you can make a revolving station but the dock point will not move with the station.

5. Information classified for now.

6. You can group your guns manualy to switch batween the firing systems but I dont know about making them separate like that.

What happened to the FL:CE mod? Are we incompetent?

I do suggest you come over here and help us out. We're making great progress and 1 good mod is better than 2 mediocre ones.

Not to mention we like making revolutionary modding ideas too

The whole problem is that, from what i can see, your trying to do the exact same things we're trying to do. So it would be rather pointless to create 2 mods that are exactly the same. We might as well team up .

Not that i'm forcing you to, but i do think it would be a good idea.

EDIT: Btw, for question 3, we wanted to have moving player ships and stuff like that, but it just ain't possible.

Blackhole2001, that would be an excellent idea. I wanted to create my own because of some other attempts i've seen here, and to be honest...they are not good. at all. Just a model of the autumn, a pelican, and a covie dropship. I have lots of ideas to the mod, but i'm not a very experienced modder, but i'm quick to learn.

Goodie! And we are much farther than that. We have about 12 models that are being tweaked, skinned and coded as we speak. our first system (sol) is being put together by me, and our weapons are doing well too. Come to our website and i will sign you up. Great to have you on the team!

3. yes it is possable but you have to leave some systems, only the ones whitch are there for no reason lol, like the intro system if you delete intro or P7 or whatever they are called it crashes on startup, but thats ok as neither of them systems are actually in game

Anyway, yes, that is possible. Although, the only system you need to keep is the FP7 system, and you should alsokeep the Li01 system, although you can just randomly name whichever system you want to start in and then name the base you want to start at Li01_01_base. Everything else can be deleted. We all ready did this
