Aww remember Privateer? Awesome game. I like to call it Freelancers "daddy"

Anyways,
Ive always missed the 2 things that Privateer had that was forgotten to be included in Freelancer. Escort Missions(apart from killing, arresting and assasination missions) and Transport Hiring(You know, where you hire a tain to transport your goods as you fly escort to it and are able to out fit it with weaps and equip.)

did you play "Privateer the remake" yet? It better works for Windows XP.

You say its not supported but the first mission of SP is a Train Escort mission.

The thing is, you are doing the escorting, you have no control over King or any others. In Tacheon, you could give orders to your wingman, but not here. they are just following the written program. Sorry.

Ah, yes ... Tachyon. A great game

Yeah, as ol' Jake Logan, you could hire different wingmen and order them to do different things, such as form up on you, attack nearest hostile, protect your target ... And if you got a good one, they'd deliver

There are so many aspcets from Tachyon that I have longed to implement in FL. And the thing that sucks is that my comp now doesn't run the game anymore ...

Plus, the crazy Novalogic people pretty much disowned the game, removing servers and the whole reference part of their site - there's no links or home pages for The Fringe anymore on NovaWorld...

Ah, reminiscences ... Tachyon, how I miss you...
