Ah, and apparently, FL was slated to have multiple difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, Hard. At least, this is what I am guessing, as there are entries in the Resources.dll that
could denote settings (some among the dozens and dozens) that were omitted from the game.
DIFFICULTY_SCALE = 1.00 must be "normal," while something like
0.75 would be easy, and
1.25 would be hard. And a slider bar or check boxes would probably control it from the Options menu...
