i neeeeed bad guys in my system!

I'm new in this forum, so... hello!

I just finished my first system(its pretty good btw)

And i bumped into a few problems, namely i want outkasts in a specific part of the map, and attacking some tradelanes, and i just cant do it! And a system without bad guys is crap!

(If possible I would also like a constant hostility place between Outkasts and the police)

And I also cant add board missions to my bases! The board says that there are too many players accesing the board missions (i'm playing single player)

If some cool guy cold answer me, i'd be very very happy!lol!

maybe chips might know something but i bet a mod creation team can give you the best detail on how to figure it out.

Hi!

Getting some Outcast encounters is quite easy and there are many tutorials for this here in the forums. You may want to try the search function. I do not want to offend you, but the master modders and even me saw similar questions so often that you will find many threads about this.

Just in short (sorry do not have much time):

1. You need an encounter zone (if you don't know how to do one do one with FLExplorer and then tweak it in the ini).

2. You need to add encounters for the Outcasts in this zone.

3. You need to add police encounters to the zone, which are hostile to the Outcasts (e.g.: Liberty police).

That's it for the normal encounters.

For the missions, there should also be many tutorials. You have to go to the mbases.ini to make your NPCs and the board on the new stations give out missions.
Then you have to add vignette zones to your system (these are the zones, in which missions are taking place)
And you have to have encounter zones in your systems for the vignette zones to work.
So, at first encounters, then vignette zones and then missions on bases.

Hope this helps!

And again, the search functionm will help you very much (type something like "encounters" and for the second part "randommissions"

Good luck!

Thanks Black Eagle, that helped!

But if instead of 2 already hostile factions i use 2 new custom factions, how do i make them mutualy hostile?(like outcasts-liberty police)

I've changed the empathy.ini ; the faction_prop.ini; the inicialworld.ini

And i've made a zone were they're both at the same time... am i missing something?

(sorry for bugging u guys i'm a lousy forum searcher)

Hi again!

To make two new custom factions hostile to each other, you have to do the following:

1. make them hostile to each other in initialworld.ini (in the block of the first custom group, for example "fc_custom1_grp" put "rep = -0.65, fc_custom2_grp" and the other way round).

2. you have to mkae them hostile to each other in the empathy.ini (in the block of "fc_custom1_grp" add "empathy_rate = fc_custom2_grp, -0.450000" to make them really much hostile to each other).

3. And for the two factions you need to add blocks to faction_prop.ini, make NPC ships for them and so on (For this please look in a tutorial for creating new factions).

Then it should work.

One more thing. You might be a lousy forum searcher, but you have to search. This is because we do not want to answer the same questions millions of times and therefore, we will not answer you very often on such questions. You might be new and at the beginning someone might help you, but if you get known as a lazy man, who does not use the search function, noone will answer you.
So, please take your time and search the forums. The good side effect is that you read other things then and learn really much about modding. This is how we all learned modding. It may sound boring, but at the beginning you have to read, to read again and to read again.

Good luck with your mod!
