.ALE Files

Guys, I found out recently that you can't do anything with .ALE files in FL. Well, I have a link with some info on them as well as a PDF document on how to create if this will help anyone. The link is:

http://24p.com/ALE.htm

I really hope this helps someone and opens up new possibilities for the TLR community!

sorry but that's a format for video editing logs.

Oh, sorry. At least I tried.

ALE stands for ALchemyEngine... A proprietary engine designed by DA. No way to do it, no one cracked it.

Info looks to be hidden in Alchemy.dll

That's all I know.

Somewhere in the mists of recent time I started a thread to get these decoded. They are essentially UTF files similar in structure to CMPs. I haven't spent a lot of time on this but search for what i did find...

What would .ALE files do to the game? What would happen if someone could crack them? What would be possible?

These tell the game when and how to show FX. Like guns, they have multiple effects combined in one to give the full gun FX. Well the ALE file decides of the color of these, as well as timing and other parameters.

Cracking these would mean *maybe* (We don't know what the CRC are doing in this) be able of making totally new weapons FXs.

I thought we could already make totally new effects.

COMBINATIONS OF EFFECTS, yes. New ones, no.

You can edit the ale. files with the UTF-editor.

You can open them with UTF Edit but it's nonsense.
