Ideas from voice files
Hello all,
On one of my many journeys into FL to distract myself (best way to solve a problem - find a new one), I went into the voice files. Now after spending most of the day listening to the 23,954 voice files, I found a few neat things and was wondering how we can get them into the game.
Firstly, there are voices setup for the Bartender, Commodity Dealer, Equipment Dealer and Ship Dealer.
These are exclusive voices if you like, the Bartender will mention that he is a bartender etc etc. The Ship Dealer one actually sounds pretty cool, it changes on how many ships he has for sale.
Secondly, there is an end of mission comment saying that you have failed because you lost too many allied ships.
Thirdly, there are voices detailing that you cannot take this mission because you don't have access to that system yet.
Fourthly, another mission rejection because you do not have the cargo space.
This is what I came up with:
The first
I can't think where this would be kept. I always thought that the voice = line is just for the actor/actress. Maybe there is a voice = that tells you what type of NPC it is. Long shot, but its the best I can currently do :p
Second
Gotta be a mission type thats been left out, pretty simple really due to the lack of repeating voices, it was just one voice file, one actor. Also, if I remember my viginetteparams file, theres no loose ends that would point to this. The lack of DLL info also means its probably useless
Third
First I was thinking that it could be the very first freetime when all of the gates are locked. Then I got thinking, no missions in NY take you over system. I wonder if its possible to lock all gates in initialworld and having a bribe type of thing that would open them up for you (this would mean in MP). In the knowledge files, it does list systems, and I can't remember anytime where you get a bribe on a system. Maybe this is connected.
Fourth
Easy. Make the escape pod commodity sizable (aswell as all of the rm_ commoditys if you so desire). You should get this message if the commodity cannot fit in your hold, that could be cool, the commoditys size could increase as you go. Actually, I'm going to stick that in mine right now.
So, has anyone got any other thoughts on these?
