trade route information NOT appearing

I´m working on it but when we make a System with F.L.E. (Freelancer Explorer), the Commodities that we define in the created Bases just don´t appear when you select an item from yours Inventory Cargo Space. We see only the list of original Bases and Systems.
Coud some Expert on this matter give me some useful HELP?

Make sure you keep all the Bases, including your new ones, ABOVE the Systems in Data\Universe\Universe.ini.

Couldn't have said it better myself - nice work Moonhead

Yeah you tought us that one some long time ago It was one of those many things that didn't seem to matter to me, but turn out to do

Btw, can you confirm this "blank lines trigger trailing references in FLspew" rumor? I have a habit of keeping multitudes of blank lines between sections in my ini files, and if I'm correct I saw you doing that too in Evolutions.

I didn't actually check for trailing references msg but the load time of FL is drastically improved, far more than can be accounted for by the reduction of 30-40Kb in size. Besides, Argh isn't the sort to make wild claims - if he's posted it then it means what he says

@ Dionisius - Do you stick to the original game's nickname convention? I mean, except for the St02c, St03b and FP7 systems (which do not show up on market listings anyway) all systems have a nickname composed of two letters and two ciphers, and all bases have a nickname composed of its system name + "_"+ two ciphers +"_base". E.g. Aa01_01_base, Li01_18_base, Br09_05_base and Xw01_02_base.

Maybe your problem is that you've used more exotic names, like Rh08_Konigsberg_base or whatever. I'm not 100% if this could cause a problem, but my mod was considerably messier until I adapted the orthodox nickname convention.

@ Anton - I wasn't trying to imply that Argh was making a wild claim, sorry if I made the impression! The fact that I think he knows what he's talking about, is why I kept worring about this (somewhere, at some subconcious level ).

It's rather that I do not yet entirely comprehend to what degree this goes. Does it mean it would be a good thing to delete ALL the single blank lines that are between entries in any decompressed ini file?? I've seen that in some mods, and I think that:

a) it would be a hell of a job
b) dramatically decreases the readability of your ini files.

What about lines that are just made up of a ; ?

Also make sure that the base id, ids_name, and ids_infocard numbers match between universe.ini and the system ini file.

You may also need to make entries in infocardmap.ini but I'm less sure about that one.

We're a little off topic with the trailing references but the notion is that empty lines cause FL's ini parser some convulsions (uncertain about lines that start with a space or tab). i guess the answer is to use 2 copies of your mod - 1 with blank lines for readability, the other to actually activate and test. The Replace program from the 12Ghosts package can be got seperately and is very good.

Thks to all your efforts but the thing just doesn´t work at all. Iverified all that stuff you have refered!
Is there anybody who can HELP ME indeed ??

Try this:

From the universe.ini file
[Base
nickname = Li01_01_Base
system = Li01
strid_name = 196766 <----------------------------------
file = Universe\Systems\Li01\Bases\Li01_01_Base.ini
BGCS_base_run_by = W02bF35

The strid_name number must match the ids_name number for the base in the systems .ini file

From li01.ini
[Object
nickname = Li01_01
ids_name = 196766 <----------------------------------
pos = -33270, 0, -33039
rotate = 0, -10, -10
ambient_color = 255, 0, 0
Archetype = planet_earthgrncld_4000
ids_info = 65759
spin = 0, 0.001000, 0
atmosphere_range = 4200
burn_color = 160, 222, 245
base = Li01_01_Base
reputation = li_p_grp
visit = 1

Hi!

At first, look in the post above mine, as this is a common problem!

Then one question:

I had this problem with one of my bases and none of the above fixes worked. Finally I solved it this way:

My base was similar to Tekagis arch and therefore had two parts. The Asteroid as first part and the Docking point as second point. I had given the same ids_name to both of these parts (of course it was the same as the strid_name) and could not get the trade route to appear.
As I deleted the ids_name from one part, it worked.

So be sure you have:
1. The strid_name the same as the ids_name
2. All bases named in the logical FL way (Rh01, Rh02, Ew01, etc.)
3. All bases over the systems in universe.ini and in a logical order (depending on the names)
4. If your base has two parts (like tekagis arch), only one part can have the ids_name

If you have all this, it should work.

Good luck!
