Thorn file creator

Hey all,
Ro9ue here. I am interested in making my own intro scripts for an upcoming mod. But I tried to find a THN file creator, but I can't find one. I looked in one link that should have linked me right to the file here in TLR, but it said the domain had expired (old website I guess?) Or someone removed the file from DLs.

Could someone with a THN program maybe post it please? Or perhaps email it to me if that wouldn't be too much trouble? [email protected]

Thanks, guys I appreciate any help or pointers in locating a prog for this (sounds like fun).

do you mean a compresser? search the web for lua script - thats what thn files really are

Well, I mean the fled-thorn program (I think that's the one that a lot of people use to edit THN files, right?)
I can't find this program on TLR, or on the internet :-/ I have a feeling that I'm just not looking for the right thing, but I don't know what that is exactly.
Someone mentioned the FLEd-Throrn program, but the link to the DL in the Thorn-editing thread is broken.
Hmm, any ideas? Thanks

I can email the FLED-Thorn file to you; I still have the original .zip file. If it would get throught the mail, that is. Sometimes .zips get bounced, especially when there's a .exe file in it.

It's 67 KB.

Btw, as you can read from the other thread, the files I decompressed with it, don't work

Hey moonhead, yeah, I saw that you said that :-/ I wonder why they don't ... ?
But other people seem to be able to make their own, so maybe it might work? I don't know for sure, but hey, it's worth a shot.
If you wouldn't mind sending me the zip, I would appreciate it If my mail allows .exe's to go through, then it should work. I think I've successfully emailed .exe files before, so go ahead and give 'er a swing. Thanks a lot - I really want to try it out.

I just sent it.

I was womdering... I have assumed that, when putting the uncompressed ini's into the game, the .lua should be removed from the extension (.thn files uncompressed by Feld-thorn get the extension .thn.lua). Is this assumption correct?

Hey, thanks! I got the file, installed, and decompressed a few thm files.
But I cannot a) make any sense whatsoever of what is inside them(yes, read the tutorial on it, but still makes no sense ), or b) recompress the thn.lua files. FL didn't like teh one I tried changing the Defenders in the gasminer script to eagles - just a lovely CTD when I started FL.

SO I don't know about these files. I don't usually give up very easily, but i sure don't know what the hades I'm doin. But thanks for the time and the files Maybe they'll make more sense later.
Gotta get, so later.

I don't think you actually need to recompress the files - i'm sure the ones modified in Evolutions are left uncompressed.

i'm sure the ones modified in Evolutions are left uncompressed[/qiote

The ones I simply decormpressed and left untouched* didn't work properly (the planetscape was rendered incorrectly; also without any clickable icons so the game had to end).

* I did however try different things for the extensions (and I didn't forgot the Room files refering to them):

- .thn
- .lua
- . thn.lua

In all cases the same thing happened.

Although I am not familiar with the lua script, there were no obvious errors, like brackets or columns missing.

If i'd like to try to recompress the files, just to see if it works, what program should I use?

This page should have the files you need. I haven't tried this however...
