Ms3d Noob Help Question

Hello all,
First things first, I'm a new FL addict, bought the game about a week ago, finished the missions twice and am now exploring. I've been playing around with the mod thing last few days and have got the stuff from Drizzt4.0.
Problem: Every time I use Milkshape, my computer goes screwy. All the graphics start disappearing, desktop icons, start button text, folder icons, etc....
The only way I have been able to get them up again is by restarting my system.
Its driving me crazy and is making modelling almost impossible.
Any help on this would be much appreciated. Is there another program I should use or perhaps its my hardware ?
My basic system stats are: Celeron 2.4Ghz, 512MB RAM, 128MB RADEON 9200se running Windows XP Home SP2.

I would suggest seeking help from the creator of the milkshape program, as you may appreciate, we cannot effectively troubleshoot 3rd party software...

If you go to their site, and to the forums - you may get help there. Of course, if they solve it for you, it would be nice to post the solution back here so that future members can read it too

I am sure there was a problem with MShape and XP, whether that has been fixed (I imagine it would have been) I don't know. Also - did you install the pluggin exporter/importer, as I understand some had issues with that and version 7.0 of this software. Of course, fix can only come from the creator though....

p.s -if its an illegal hacked version, well whaddya expect, you get what you pay for.....or didn't pay for

G'day Chips,
I figured it out an hour or so ago. Basically I think the program is taking ownership over the gfx card when I manipulate a model in any way.
Its weird, all the graphical bits of the desktop and programs disappear, but if I move from 'group' toolbox into one of the others and then click the mouse somewhere on the page, then run the mouse over the buttons, the graphics come back. lol..
My first model was a total disaster, can't see it in the game, can't fly as the game just crashes when i click to leave the launch pad and none of the hardpoints seem to have worked. dOH!! no guns.. i'm assuming no engines, shield, and all the rest that makes life grand

Oh well, .. back to the classroom I guess..
