FL Explorer ''radiation'' death - PLEASE HELP

I just created a system and was testing it out. I turn on my cruise engines, to fly to a starbase, and BOOM!, a strange, unknown source of radiation kills me instantly. There are currently no nebulae, or other sources of radiation nearby.

all thats in this system right now is 3 planets, a sun , and one starbase.

WHAT could possible be causing this radiation???

PLEASE HELP!! I need to finish for a lan party next week

Anything that's a death_zone can give you this warning (I think it's the generic warning for this type of Zone). So check every Zone you've got, especially looking for the line "population_additive = 0"

First, check the radius of the Sun's Death Zone, and the Planet's Atmosphere's.
Odds are that one, or all, of them are way to large.
Either that, or the Sun's Death zone may not be centered on the sun.

I dont have any zones, just 3 planets, 1 star, and one starbase. But, I put the star at the top of the map, not in the center. The place I was flying was in the very center of the map... hmmm.... but then, wouldnt the suns death area be around the sun no matter where it is located? Or does the sun have to be in the center / or no sun at all?

If you set up a star with FLE... you need to manually edit the resulting INI to move it. A sun really consists of 3 parts:

1. The Sun itself (which is basically just a model with an FX attached)
2. The Dynamic Lightsource
3. The Death Zone and Corona around the sun

If you move a Sun in FLE... it just moves the sun, not the other associated objects. You need to open up your System's INI file and hack it out by hand, making all of the locations the same... that'll take care of the problem

I think the moral of the story is that no matter how easy the tools for editing FL get, you're always going to need to get your hands dirty and look at the scripts and code

I'm not moving a star in a pre-made system though, i just made my own.

It doesn't matter. Just open up your System INI file (BR07.INI or whatever it is) and check out the location values for the sun, the dynamic light and the death_zone for the sun...
