ne1 know what format FL uses to make the character models

They're .dfm files, for whatever that's worth. I know you can open them with the UTF editor, though.

Why exactly do you want to edit character models? To make new species?

Indeed its possible to make custom character
DFM->File Flow Diagram Model
DFM->Prosa Data Flow Diagram Model

well, id like to just import some other models and maybe make my own. exactly what id do im not sure about
