Ship Market Model Problems

I'm having a few problems concerning the displayed models of custom ships in the ship market. I currently have 3 custom ships and in the market, when you select the ship, the preview picture is always of the first one. However, if you purchase the ship and launch from the planet, it is just fine. I've checked the grouping names in the .mat files and they are all unique as I used the shipnames in front of the group names (i.e. warthoghull). Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: It also happens if I seperate the ships to one per base. If I already have a custom ship, when I land, either a) the ship for sale takes the model and of my custom ship or b) my custom ship takes the model of the custom ship that's for sale. Again, this is in the preview window when you're buying a ship.

Not mat files - its the actual CMP file. Did you create brand new ones each time, with independantly named new parts, or did you name everything the same? Its something like that anyway, however.............if you use the modelling forum, you may actually have those who make ships help you out, rather than us lot taking pot shot guesses!

Ok,

what i noticed when i first started putting custom models into FL, in milkshape you should name your primary group, or rather the first object listed in the mesh groups list to a unique name for every ship.

for example, say you have made a set of 3 fighters to create a new series. and lets say you over look the fact that the first mesh group in Milkshape is name: obj0 (for sake of arguement) now when you go into FL after converting them if they are all 3 sold at same base, or if you own one of them then go to a dealer that sells another, EG: You own the LF and now want the HF. you will encounter this problem.

It comes dow to , i believe, CRC values, and/or the 3db name under the vmesh tree.

it is the same as mat files and the textures. if the same object (object with same name) is already loaded, FL will use that one instead of teh next incarnation.

The result is what is happening to you. 2 or more ships that share the same look in some cases when they are not suppose to.

Go back in to Milkshape and verify that your first listed mesh group for each ship has a unique name.

That was my problem. I somehow managed to have every single ship with an HpEngine01 vmesh. Thanks a lot guys.
