Memory editor?

Has anyone actually made a memory editor that will allow you to turn off mods on/off ingame?

Its a pain when im using my police mods then have to exit the entire program to shut them off for a duel.

If any such thing did exist, it would probably cause the game to crash. Even if it didn't, I believe there are certain sets of data that are only loaded once, when you boot up the game. So activating the mod wouldn't do much.

Ini files are not loaded all at once. Perhaps you can manually edit it yourself when you've docked at a base or something.

When you save a game or have a autosave, then deacitvate a mod or remove parts of a mod and then resume a game, it would probaly crach the game as the saved game file contains a pic if you will of the game files. Thats why you can not use one save file while using another mod.

You sure? I have over 30 save files on my server that are running between 0-40 mods. I can switch back and forth with any number of mods loaded at any time and it never crashes.

You can switch between mods with the same saves so long as there isn't any conflict between files. For example, if one mod adds only ships, and another adds only systems, so long as your save was with an original ship in an original system, you would be able to switch it over.

Heres what I mean. 1st game, I'm flying an Anubus, save leave game. start 2nd game, fling a Titan, save leave the game Start 3rd game, flying an Enterprise. Save leave game. Any of those, when I go back, will give me a difernt ship. In the case of the enterprise, that is a mod. I deactivate a mod and add another, now the enterprise is no longer there in the Data file. The save will not work, game crash.
