Freeport 7

I'm a newbie modder looking to create our solar system to scale (about 1:1000000 I think.)
Anyway, I'm hoping to use the freeport 7 base which was featured, and destroyed, in the intro sequence but I'm having trouble finding it. Can anyone help or can it even be used as a base?

If I'm correct, a Freeport model such as the one in Magellan was used, then those things added on to it were different models. I think...

Incorrect. In FE, there is a model, at the very bottom in 'other objects' that is called Freeport 7. It is based off another model, but that eludes me at the moment.

it should be the Outpost selection in the bases part of FLE

you can't dock with the 'Freeport 7' in the other objects section of FLE, dunno a way round it though...

i agree with some uther dude up there, can't remember their name... you've gotta use the nickname 'outpost' in your INI files, cos that's what it looks like!

open up m01a.ini in the m01a folder in missions.

ctrl-f for solar, then look at the MsnSolars. these are all generated in the first mission, for that cutscene. simply, copy and paste all the base info, change MsnSolar to Object, position = to pos =, and anything else (cant recall directly).

voila.

TO make it dockable just add a docking HP Use HardCMP for it...

but you'd also have to set the docking spheres, etc, in solararch.ini.

Simplest way is just not to bother and use a different one, because basically it was made as an object and not a dockable base, so trying to make it dockable will involve almost as much work as creating a new one from scratch.

You don't really need to start from scratch, you just need to stick the outpost, cargo container, biodomes, and the connecting structure models together. The outpost modle should already have all the bones/docking stuff already. The rest is for looks.

copying and pasting from the m01a.ini is much faster and easier. no calculating needed, just a basic addition and subtraction for moving the thing around.

if any of you have tried making a shipyard, thats how hard it is. m01a is all done for oyu.

if you have Fraps, just start it before starting the Game. Take a screenshot of the Station. Then make it in FLE.
