Jammers

These are not cloaking devises at all. the ship still remains visible but you cannot pick it up on radar. They can be used for people who only want to be seen on radar at the last miniut. Freelancer seems to have the basic code already. To be honest I have not even started meddking yet I would like to know how the general freelancer comunity feels about Jammers and if i should bother working on them. And if someone who's in charge of lancersreactor has any veiws on if jammers would be considered legal on servers could they please post a reply. I repeat that Jammers will nt be cloaking devises the ship will ermain visible at all times provided the Lod ranges are corect lol.

If it remains visible, then that's absolutely fine with me. Think of the old times when planes didn't have radar. It'll be exactly like that. The pilots had to visually look for enemies

The code for "jammers" is actually the opposite, it's the code for radar.

But feel free to try and make a jammer anyways, because it would definately be cool.

hmmmm, well heres an idea thats working backwards. if u cant get ajammer working, chnage all the scanners to minimal range and have upgrade scanners buyable. so its like an auto jammer. i dont know if there is a way to block it. id say look at the cloak specs, only b/c they make u not appear on scans, hmmm this feels like aosirce code thing to me

i've looked into this before, unsuccessfully. looking through the code of frelancer.exe i came across 3 keyfunctions (like USER_CRUISE, etc): USER_CLOAK, USER_JAMMER, USER_STEALTH.

all seemed to be unfiinished
i spent quite some time wokring these out, implanting them in the keymap, testing them, with and without certain equipment, nothing.

unfinished as well.

Yes, There are a number of key commands lying around that can be used, Quite a lotof them arent actyally refferenced in the DLL's or EXE's, Those you cant even use, Have a look back for the Keymap and Keylist.ini thread, That has a list made by Gregstar2k of all the refferenced commands, Good luck, And dont give up, The final answer usually requires a little more digging than you think. Just make sure when your testing to test it in all three camera modes, Just like rolling originally only worked in Cockpit mode.

yeah, if you look lowerdown in the keymap.ini it shows why some only work in certain views. i set it for all views.

Sorry i took so long to read the Thread. I have not looked at jammers for a while now i have been working more on New ship models. If any one has any advise that they are willing to share please email it to [email protected]
This way i will proberly get it faster.LoL;
