shield_link issue

hi there,

so here is the problem:
go, make junis defender available for freelancers (li_elite2)
in the folder for that elite 2 fighters, there is also a li_elite2_shield.3db for that fighter..

and there is even a shield_link name "l_elite2_shield01" in the select_equip.ini!

now, there has to be something wrong with the file:
every ship turns off his shield, when you drop something to space (like nanobots etc)
that li_elite2 fighter does not turn off its shield...

... how come?

I'm not sure but mabe it's a specal ability or something lol

I'm not very helpful am i lol

I haven't had a look but maybe there dual shields or somthing but ill have a look

Problay due to the fact, in the story line, juni never tracktors anything in. Therefore he shield was notneede to drop and was written in that way.

they also cant die they have a trigger on them
Make_invincible i beleive is what they have at minimum damage

well... looks like no real solution here oO

did anyone yet mod such a shield .3db file???
or does anyone know where this "shield-turning-off" could be defined?!?

If there is no cargo_jettison animation entry, the shield's won't go down. I added a custom ship to the game which ahd no HpBaydoor01 and 02, and thus I just put out the jettison animation part because it referred to those hardpoints. Try to copy that part from the defender and see if it helps. If li_elite2 model has those 2 hardpoints (check out with utf-edit) then it should work-
