Modding Mishaps

Dunno if this is in the wrong place or what but.....

What is the most funny/weird/odd or downright crazy modding mishap that you have done? Can be for any game.

Mine was when making a Transphasic torpedo for Armada 2. Made it so well it went through the ship as well as the shields

So post away, screenshots are welcome but not required. Best one doesn't get thwacked

Man I have seen so many crazy things in different mods.

Back in Neverwinter Nights I scripted a powder keg script, I lit the fuse, and smoke started coming off my CHARACTERS foot instead of the barrel. I figured I'd screwed up the fuse so I stood back, and my character exploded instead of the barrel >_<

In Battlefield Vietnam I screwed up the physics on a boat, instead of driving forward really fast, it just slowly levitated and would barrel through the sky head over heels, anything that touched it would get destroyed instantly due to the screwy physics. "Look out, it's a... boat? - Pull u- *BANG*"

Worst I have done (visually) is make some gun effects last too long. However, since the gun effects were different colors, I had a star destroyer looking like a christmas tree. The guns themselves did no damage, so I had the equivalent of a star destroyer shooting paintball christmas lights everywhere.

Nice trap. That's like something out of Spy vs Spy. heh

My only modding experience is with this game, and the biggest mishap at the moment is somehow I made npc ships not fire their cannons - and I didnt really change anything about npc ships.

well my funniest mishap in modding was with this game, in the level2 mod.

I was using some empty string tables in resoruces.dll and after entering some NPC char names I ended up with having all Nomad & Zoners named after one NPC Char. Kinda funny to see.

Ryuujin's Never winter Nights exploding Hero is just in the lead but the 1 named Nomad and ZOners and leathal Star Destroyer Christmas Tree come close second.

While upgrading the nomads in the unknown I apparently "over egged the pudding" and ended up getting not only the nomads battleships, gunboats, and fights but I got a nomad luxury liners as well..........I am still trying to get nomad random encounters with no luck but I thought these were good screen shots :-)

that's hilarious.

my modding mishaps:
Doom (yes the old one ):
building "ghost players" by mistake, accidentally nuking them all with a trap i designed for a DM-map -> all players instant death.
the trap teleported an exploding barrel !! -> the exit of it was nuked. the exit was in the middle of 4 other barrels that were pushed into teleporters by the blast.
the end were 16 rocketexplosions spread inside a small room.
i set up a 2nd playerstart there (actualy the 1st one) -> resulted in a "ghost" player: acted and looked like the real one, but was stationary and could be damaged. that was the part i didnt knew when i triggered the trap. instant suicide. took me a while to figure out why i got killed,lol.

Quake2 - airquake2 mod - mapbuilding:
attempt to make activateable forcefields. unfortunatly they instantkilled everything that was in their way on activating.. hmmmm

FL:
- attempt to mod a repairship. try it, its good for a laugh or two
- lane-rollercoaster with looping, screwdrivers, ...
- a giant-penguin-looking ship for Excelcia's forum admin, Klngarthur.
- in general the "exploration" phase of FL and the playground mod i built to try out all kinds of stupid stuff.

lol some of these are great lol

my most fubar'ed mishap was making some custom monsters for doom (Old School) and it was "supposed" to be a Shadow imp. I made it black in paint shop and gave it purple fireballs. I made some weird mistake in the hacked exe with dehacked somewhere and it started throwing those formar human troopers at me instedand if they hit a wallthey got stuck and were just hangin out.

not the craziest here but it was hilarious to see just from the knees down of a zombie soilder stisking out of a wall like an arrow (bad clipping model too)
