CMP converter for GMAX?

Does anyone know if there is a cmp exporter for gmax, for use in exporting cmp files for Freelancer ships? Personally, I find gmax, alot easier to work with than milkshape and wondered if there was a way to totally skip milkshape and go from gmax to freelancer. It seems the only reason people use milkshape is that there is a way to export in cmp from milkshape (and you add hardpoints and textures there as well, but you can do that in gmax I think). If anyone knows of such an exporter for gmax, please let me know, it would be much appreciated.

Well I never ever heard of one, and it would be announced everywhere if it was made.

Actually I did some looking, and there was one guy on the turbo squid forums (where you download gmax) who was looking into creating a cmp converter. The last post was in 2003, but I am trying to track him down to see what luck he had. I don't think that there is a converter in existence, but I was wondering if someone was in the process of making one.

I am looking for one of those as well. Let us know if you have any luck finding that guy or his exporter.

Also, the link for the exporter to Milkshape in Dizzit's tutorial is busted and since I only recently downloaded gmax per his advice I do not even have the exporter to Milkshape. Is that somewhere else... please? I am nearly done with a very simple ship and would like to be able to try to use it, though I fear the placing of textures and hardpoints will be beyond me for some time.
