Nav Text: Step Two?

Ok so i have changed Sirius Sector to what I want it to be, however, how can I erase rheinland, liberty, etc, and all them, and change them to what i want and put them in the position on the navy map where I want>

On a secondondary note I was wondering where exactly the nav map picture is stored in the directory files and if it is possible to create a new background for the nav map.

I have found some posts on these but many times the answer is never clearly given.

Thanks,
EArTh

How to extract the image used for the nav map is gone over in newbie questions, answers to where the text is stored, is included as well as in other threads about the topic. To exchange the image, you need to create yours using the SAME stats as the one FL uses (ie, size, resolution, etc etc), and then import that instead....

There are loads of newbie questions threads...well, time to look through them...

Um, soz to double: but, when you refer to the text, do you mean that same newbie thread? I don't want to edit the text: I want to delete it and add new text on various places...

Ok now i have the problem that i cannot import the info back to my mod.

I have created the folders necessary.. interface\neuronet\navmap\newnavmap\nav_prettymap.3db

so i select that out of my mod folder with utf and i try and import the new image, yet when i export it again to test if it worked the image is still the original nav map.

sounds weird, Earth. sure you saved after importing?
utf-edit also wont save correctly if there are existing "empty" nodes.
sure you havent added one accidentally?

Here's the exact steps i took:

Exported the iomage as a .tga file.

Opened the image up in Photoshop.

Editted the image.

Saved as a .tga. ; Should I save as a .dds?

Selected the node, and imported the new image ; name of the file was fancymap.tga, should i name is MIP0 or whatever that node is called?

'Exited' the program ; I didn't realize you had to save the file. Do you simply click save file as? I thought that sort of exported the node in a way?

you have to save the 3db file after importing the pic ..

Um, how do you get rid of the house names on the background? They're not on fancymap.tga

You need to edit the resource.dll, search for Bretonia or whatever and the 2nd through 5th numbers that come up or something like that are the house names on the nav map. I just put a space there so it would come up blank on the map.

Im still looking for ways to move this text rather than write on the map. Does anyone know how this is done?
