Exactly what to do to remove ALL Systems?

Exactly what do you need to do to remove every system from the game?

Ive's editted:

All System files.ini
universe.ini
initialworld.ini
empathy.ini
mbases.ini
music.ini
market_misc.ini
weapon_good.ini
commodities_per_faction.ini


what else must i edit for there to be no crash?

A detailed list would be very appreciated. Thanks.

there is still market_ships.ini.

But if you want the game not to bug you also need to create at least 1 system. Else expect a crash all the time...

For MP, you got to change the startup system in mpnewcharacter.fl

For SP, dunno.

and if u deleted the menu systems, you got to make new ones... and that is different coding.

So Market_ship.ini + all the ones I stated are the only ones needed to prevent a crash?

And also yeah the point is to remove them and make new systems but even with ym new systems in place it crashes.

I have editted all those files. I have left some of them just blank, would this cause a crash? IF not then my freelancer still crashes and perhaps there are other files i must edit?

did you bypass all the storyline? (i guess it causes major errors, should check it .. my oppinion)

missions folder .. and i think missioncreatedsolars.somewhere ..

I would say that the game is still trying to read Li01

It is a VERY GOOD IDEA NOT TO CHANGE THIS SYSTEM IN ANYWAY, SHAPE OR FORM. Adding a few jumpgates here and there is fine. DO NOT delete it. If anyone has taken the time to notice, they would have seen that if you make a NEW system, and that you start the game from your NEW system and not have any other nav map knowledge. They would have noticed that New York stays on the Nav Map. No matter what i do i cannot get rid of it.

Try using xerxes open SP and start in your system. BUT FOR GOODNESS SAKES PUT Li01 BACK.

just change (in universe.ini)

[system
nickname = Li01
file = Systems\Li01\Li01.ini
pos = 7, 8
msg_id_prefix = gcs_refer_system_Li01
visit = 1
strid_name = 196609
ids_info = 66106

to ---> visit = 0
this will make li01 not show up from start ..

i wanted to do this also for a mini total conv mod
and heres what I did to start out with a mp only, one system universe.

I have left the start system as Li01 and the start base as li01_01 just rewriting the code
and I am using all the same factions as before

data folder
initialworld.ini commented out ( i.e.) ; in front of all the locked gates entries

Equipment folder
market_commodities.ini zap all old entries and replaced with my new li01 code only
market_misc.ini zap all old entries and replaced with my new li01 code only
market_ships.ini zap all old entries and replaced with my new li01 code only

Interface folder
knowledgemap.ini zapped all entries relating to systems (will replace later) so the only thing left is faction data

missons folder
mbases.ini zapped all the old entries and replaced with my new code for li01 bases only

universe folder
missoncreatedsolars.ini zapped all entries
shortest_illegal_path.ini zapped all entries except li01, li01, li01
shortest_legal_path.ini zapped all entries except li01, li01, li01
systems_shortest_path.ini zapped all entries except li01, li01, li01
universe.ini zapped all entries except the intro1_base, intro2_base, intro3_base entries and added in my new li01 base and system entries

Li01 folder in systems
replaced the files as appropriate with my new details

exe folder
mpnewcharacter.fl at the bottom i commented out all the system visit entries
(e.g.) visit = 2745692751,1 etc.

bundle this up into a mod and away you go

I am not sure of all of this is necessary, but it took some time to get it to work.
you will get some base not found messages on the flserver.exe console view when u boot up the server but thats ok. The messages reference the news.ini in the missons folder (if you zap that file the server will crash and fl wont start up)

hey (yeah i know this topic has mummified) i've been checking this out & i found that news.ini _isn't_ the cause of these messages by replacing every entry with Li01_01_Base. Anyone have any ideas what does cause them? I would like to clean up the console messages if just for neatness' sake

yeah I managed to remove them, cant remember how right now, but will look it up and post it at the weekend
