i do believe it is the tie_defender. (could be wrong....i was never good at ship names)

or you could just make a back up of the goold ole starflier's graphics

the...cmp,mat,and sur

make a copy of the tie ships in the mod and re-name em to the starflier's file names to check the graphic...(i know it sounds hard but it isn't...)

just copy....rename...paste thats it...(MAKE A BACK UP OF ALL THE ORIGINALS!!!!)
at least you get to see em....saves time on waiting for a responce on the exact file names

Yeah... I thought about doing that with a couple other tie fighters I put in my game. I guess I could try that... that is put in the .cmp files one by one until I find the right one. If no one can tell me, the other option is to create about 4 more stations in one of my systems and put 'em all in until I get the one I want. Still, it would be nice if someone actually knew which one it was. I'll give it another day before I start sorting through them. I just got Doom 3 and don't want to spend 5 or 6 hours trying to find the right tie fighter when I could be slaying zombies! I would have thought someone would know right away what it was, but it didn't seem to exist in the original Xwing-Tie fighter series of games from Lucas Arts or I would probably remember it or know what it was.

Still looking for a clue...

TIE Republic Fighter

The Tie Republic 'eh... Thanks for that! Now I have to stay up later than I thought and put that puppy in play! I'll let you know how it comes out.

Ok... I put it in but it's the wrong one! I want the really big Tie ship that is the third one down (I think) when viewing the pictures in the Tie Universe 2.0 mod in the downloads section. There is another tie in the background which I think is the Tie Defender, but the big foreground ship is the one I want.

Still need to find that ship

I was counting the intro pic with the star destroyer as well, so for me it was the third one, but you were counting only the pics of the included fighters so I confused the issue.

Tie Scimitar it is then. I will try that one later today and report back. I just like that ship (drool!) Probably handles like a truck, but I'll fix that.

You were right Silvik... it was the Tie Scimitar. It is the perfect size for my purposes. A sort of gunship/transport for cruising my 5 addon systems. I gave it a bit more pep and maneuverability than the original gunship that it was made from. I just pull the ships I want out of the mods with a text editor, pump new numbers into them with FLed_ids, and use them in my single player games. This one I really like. Thank you for taking the time and effort to see what I was trying to get.

Starflier???

Besides the Scimitar, I also pulled out the Lancer and it is also a very good all around ship. In fact, all of these Tie ships are well made, well armed, and nicely textured. I must compliment the people who brought them to the Freelancer universe. Thanks Guys... they are all awesome. I recommend them to anyone who wants a nice gaggle of new ships. I had to make a whole new system with 3 stations and a couple of planets devoted to them (with several more stations and planets for some of the other Star Wars ships from Mancer and Porsche) to bring them all into the game. They were totally worth the effort.
