cargo hold

How can I increase my cargo hold?

Post Mon Jun 28, 2004 4:24 pm

By reading..........................................................the thread that is stickied and says that it has it all.....because strangely enough reading that will show you where the information for this is. Next time please read the rules for forums before posting. You could have found this out hours ago without waiting for an answer! Of course, it would have taken effort on your part, but there is a search function that goes some way to finding answers (not all matches it pulls up will help though!).

Well, believe it or not.....I did try the little sticky and it did not help.

I found the hold_size = 25 setting in my shiparch.ini file and changed it to the value I wanted. It didn't work. Plus, the setting is set at 25 in the file but in the game my cargo hold is set at 180. So, is there another place I should look?

You are refering to the infocard of the ship? That stays the old value. (unless you change it of course) Your ship should however, use your new value of the cargo hold.

Maybe we can help you more if you tell us what ship you want to change.

Im trying to change the value of the Achilles star trek modded ship.

example only see the bold area. If you changed it in the freelancer/data/ship.ini, then it should be that way in the game. Move the mouse curser over the Hold bar and it will show you what it actually is, not what the info card says.

type=FIGHTER
mass=400
hold_size=999
linear_drag=1
fuse=li_fighter_gas01, 0, -1
fuse=li_fighter_smoke01, 0, -1
fuse=intermed_damage_smallship02, 0, 400
fuse=intermed_damage_smallship03, 0, 200
max_bank_angle=35
camera_offset=9, 63
camera_angular_acceleration=0.05
camera_horizontal_turn_angle=23
camera_vertical_turn_up_angle=5
camera_vertical_turn_down_angle=30
camera_turn_look_ahead_slerp_amount=1
nanobot_limit=220
shield_battery_limit=220

Erm, yes, it IS up there - just have to look harder as i wish people to stop making new threads about issues that have been done to death. There was someone asking this EXACT question only 10 days ago, you could have found their thread, where i answered how, with a little search.

However, you had it bang on the money with your changes, the only problem is that you didn't TRY it, you just saw the difference. Either that or you modded the wrong ship. Use Subxeros misc database to give you the nicknames that the game uses to find ships in the shiparch.ini file, and once you change values, RELOAD the game and then try it. The value you see in the display of your ship stats is a static display that you have to enter values into. Only weapons have "dynamic" display - where values change as you change them!

Nope, didn't mod the wrong ship just the wrong file. Sorry to inconvenience you in any way. Thanks for the help.
