Milkshape refuses to start up

Hello all, I have had Milkshape for months now, and I registered with the maker to use it as long as I wanted. I have never had a problem with it before (except when I try to put that .CMP file importer in; then it always crashes w/an error report for no reason). Yesterday I was showing a friend how to use MS, and everything was working fine. I had no prblem with it.
And then today I cannot even start the friggin thing; when I double-click its start-up icon, it gives me an hourglass for 3 seconds and then stops doing anything. I look in the Task Manager (Crtl-Alt-Del) abd ms3d is running, taking 37k up in there. BUT THE PROGRAM ISN'T RUNNING and it won't start up with anything I have tried. I have not touched any other files in the MS folder, so I do not know what's different today from yesterday.

If anyone has any idea what this blasted problem is, I would very grateful if you could give me a pointer. Like I said, it was working perfrectly fine yesterday, and now it just won't start at all. Any help appreciated; thank you very much in advance.

When did you instal the CMP plugin? There are two versions, the earlier one gave me a LOT of grief and caused all kinds of problems with my mesh and the running of MS3D, if you installed it recently, look for the newer version in the DL section here and use that.

If the plugin has been in all along then I dont know.

EDIT - Ok I just read the original post again, and realised my post is of no use what so ever! sorry!

Like any program that won't cooperate. Try the usuals. 1. restart computer and then see if you can open the program. This has happened to me with FLMM. If that fails, do a reinstall of Milk and see if that gets it. It picked up a bug somewhere that afected it. Try these and see if it works. Good luck.

I would suggest asking from support from the creator - who knows about this tool more than a fansite does. Since you paid to use it (*registration), then use the support that should come with it by asking for suggestions from there....
