Jus tto set the record straight, I am not trying to break any rules, im just curious as to what exactly this whole Cloak deal is.

Is it for FL?(like the cloak the rheinlanders used?) or are you referring to some type of chat?(like masking, so to speak)

I've seen topics now and then with cloaks in the subject line but I never did visit them, and after reading a post about one of the rules, I just became curious as to what all the fuss was about.

Please read the stickyed thread above about them and do a search of the forums for your answer. it is there in full. Chances are high that this thread will be locked.

Don't want to start a bad image of meself, lol.
i checked the thread and did some searches, I am still confused.
Basicly is Cloaks people refer to in reference to a Cloak Device for FL or are they referring to some form of masking chat in message boards.

Thats all i was curious about.

Here's the deal...short version

Some time ago last summer a "cloaking mod" was created. It was great, it was wonderful, it was simple to use and everyone seemed to enjoy using it....until the darker side of MP playing took it's normal course and people were logging into C L E A N servers and screwing up the playing experience for everyone else on the server by player killing everyone and no one could see them. There was a group of players that made their rounds to all the bigger servers and simply wrecked havoc for everyone including the server admins in charge of keeping their servers enjoyable for everyone. It was like running in quicksand for the server admins. It took all their time to track these jokers down and ban 'em. Once that wave got banned the next one came and so on and so on. It was a frickin' nightmare for everyone involved except those that cloaked.

We here at the Lancers Reactor felt we had a hand in this nightmare and decided to completely BAN the use of, discussion of, distribution of this spawn from satan for the betterment of the Freelancer community.

It was the right thing to do.

Ahhhh ok, i got ya. Srry to bring this up, didnt know this was really hush hush hehehe.

Thanks for the clarity. Wasn't sure about the whole rule deal about the you know what, so now I know what the rule pertains to.
