well, there is a mod already out there which does something very similar - the logical jumphole mod v2 by CaRdAmInE. To quote the chap : "This Mod adds new jumpholes, at logical places, to the Sirius Sector", and "The jumpholes are in likely positions, like in clouds, asteroid fields, and next to trade lanes, so you'll notice them. These systems are relatively close in Freelancer terms, and therefore it would be logical to have a jumphole there."

At any rate, download it here from TLR at thislink

oh i forgot, you could probably also just download freelancer explorer and create your own mod - even a n00bster like me can do that - create a system which links all the houses. either that or add extra jumpholes using FLexplorer. in WTS mod by crabtree, there is the "hypergate" system, which is a system of jumpgates linking the main houses, and the system which links them is full of nomads and other stuff... that's pretty good.

Actually that was the basic idea I started my mod with (except I used gates, not holes).

But over time, i decided to add more and more stuff, and now I have a huge mod that's about 20% completed and full of beginner's errors (I only recently found out that a base infocard has at least 2 separate infocards, which I had not at all anticipated.)

So, it will be probabaly be finished some years after a new game has it the market, and everyone is playing that instead of FreeLancer Maybe my mod will inspire a Freelancer retro-revival in the year 2008 or so (just like you can now play ZX Spectrum ganes from the early 1980s with a Spectrum emulator).

Maybe I'd better recreate a "Lite Version" of that mod and put it up for download, but even that will take some time for me.

As cookiemonster says, you can very easily learn to make a mod like that yourself.

You should study Chips's thread. (I hope the link works, if not: it's the 3rd post on top of this forum.) That involves a lot of reading, but you''ll know the basics and where to find the programs to use.

You should also study mods created by other people. (You can learn a lot by just using NotePad!)

you can get Freelancer explorer there! just copy and paste into the address bar in your browser. then download. freelancer explorer shows you how to do it - you point and click where you want to put the jumpholes/gates/whatever. it's a great tool.
