Adding new bases- from scratch

Hello all, ArchKaine and I have been wondering if this is possible: to literally make our own bases from scratch. It will have its very own unique appearance (both inside and out) and be plaeced in a remote place (like one of the Border Worlds systems).

I have figured out how to put other bases' "archeype= ..." in one base's archetype so that the latter has the appearance of the former. But having to figure out those blasted "pos=" and "rotate=-"coordinates is are real pain.
I was wondering if there is an easy way to make a big base (like having the Blood Dragon Kyoto base's large asteroid for the center, with arms/branches extenting out to domes like Freeports', and some big ship-construction-berths like on Norfolf Shipyard)?
Is there a way to do this? If so, is there an easier way than having to copy/psate another base's stuff and its addons (that have the "parent = that base" to the base I want to make, then changing the "parnet=" to my base name? Using this procedure, I have made Detroit Munitions look like Kansei Research but again, it took me an hour to figure out the position/rotation coordiates.

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to create my own base (w/unique looks) from scratch please? Will I have to add more entries/infocards for it in the system ini where I am putting it? And is there a Turorial on it anywhere?

Thank you very muh!

Yes it is possible. In fact it has been done in a big way if you have ever seen the Citidal made by Wanderer and the Ringworld made by Giskard...

It is possible, but, correct me if I'm wrong, I think you would have to add HPs into the .cmp file if you want to add more new parts than there was originally. This means that you would have to add HPs to those asteroid bases and co. that don't have any addons originally.

Alright, I have found several forumns on this, and I have now added my own base to my game. But I don't know how to add people (bartender, patrons, Dealers), missions, or the base info (like for Manhattan, it talks about it being the first place colonized in Sirius, back in 200 A.S. or whatever). I have given it new info cards for its name and its population/gravity/Amenities, but those are all that show up when I press F9 on the base.

And is there an easier way of positioning the base and its parts (like an asteroid as the main base, with a Dome and a Shipyard berth/frame (i.e. from Norfolk) as the parts with their parent being my base) than having to just plug in numberss to those xyz coodinates, then launching game to see if it's right. If it's not, then I have to close game, go back and make a few more educated guesses as to where it needs to go, save it, start game, load, check, quit, go back ...
I was just wondering if there's an easier way (like maybe somewhere that I can click and drag a 3D model of the parts of the base ) Is this possible?

And finally, could anyone tell me where I could see a pic of those big bases please? I would like to see them, and be able to do this too
Thanks a lot!

for populating your base see the newbie questions and newbie questions 2 threads... as for positioning (deep breath) your right - much patient run load, guess again lol

Freelancer Explorer.

Add a base.
Add 'other object' to base, and check 'use nearest base as parent' then right click on the base, and click edit base layout. 3d little previewer to place the meshses of the addons and bases whever you want. Not always 100%, every blue moon I get an extension looking different ingame then ti does in FLE, but its very rare.
