Kamikaze nomads in unknown system...

I've just moved the robot planet to the other unknown system (the outcast one) but I recently realized that the random nomads spawning there do not attack the docking ring and keep flying straight into the planet getting blown up.

First I thought it had something to do with patrol paths, but there aren't any in there, the nomads just spawn randomly around you.

In the other system they attack the monkey planet as normal, and they avoid flying into it's atmosphere, but I can't find any differences between the ini files (ew05.ini and ew06.ini).

are you sure they are even hostile to the docking ring?

randomly spawned ai ALWAYS crash into planets, you do not know how many times ive seen a trade convoy's lead train fly at cruise into a planet, stop dead, and start exploding, while its wingmen behind it sit there and watch, burning up in the atmosphere... lol

They should be hostile. As the docking ring has the same reputation as the docking ring in the other unknown system...
But I could check it out again.

Hmmm. Now when you mention it... they do actually crash rather frequent...
In the house systems I've always thought of it as "traffic accidents"

I saw a train crash into Manhatten, then it just sat there with its tail sticking out of the planet. Looked like a straw sticking out of a scoop of ice cream.

But that's not what this thread is about.

I know whenever you start messing with Nomad stuff, you're going to start dealing with confusing problems. Have you tried a similar size "no encounter zone" around the planet? Would creating area_assaults with Nomads work better than random encounters?

Now here's a thought. If you have a bit of freetime on your hands, just recreate the entire nomad faction. That would fix the problems and work out bugs, but they probly wouldn't work in SP then. Just a crazy idea, but it would fix the problem (I think).

And about editing stuff, I'm sorry to say I've lost every little piece of inspiration and can't bring myself to mod anymore .
So I doubt my mod will ever be done, but it's been fun working on it anyway.

What? Your just giving up? Come on, its not THAT hard. Tell you what. What did you in? Maybe I can help. (If you want to give in your tittle of being a modder, thats fine. Just dont do it with a half done mod in your name! )

haha, well I'm not really "giving up". It's more like "Hey, I've been doing this for about 4 weeks straight now and it's getting kinda boring staring on ini-files"

And besides, my mod is a singleplayer-mod that I started because I felt something wasn't as it should be in the game.
It doesn't add anything new to the game, it only alters the game, so I don't really think it's very interesting to anyone else except me .

Maybe I'll find some inspiration again and add the things I've got planned later on. You never know...

Its fun to wait for transports to dock and then blow them up while there cargo goes thro the jumpgate
