Making a Character Skin change option

i understand form all the other threads a ROUND about way of changing the skins of characters in the game....but i have 2 little nagging questions....

1. Does all the skin changes work for the multiplayer aspect??
a. and is it just a minor change in the ini

2. is it at all possible or conceveable to make it where you have multiple skins to choose from before entering a SP/MP game....example kina like making a character in an RPG??

if so i would really like to know cause it would be a great aesthetic touch that Microsoft left out...

Darkstone,

The skin changes are just a cosmetic thing, done in mBases.ini. In this file is decided (among other things) how people you meet at bases, look and sound like. How Trent looks like, is arranged in another file, if I'm not mistaking it's EXE\newplayer.fl -- you need an editor for that one).

1. I don't know if MP uses the mBases.ini of the server, or the mBases.ini of the client. If it uses that of the server, then changes made will be visible to all players. If it uses the client's one, than each individual can probably change how the charcaters look in is own game, but these will of course not be noticed by the other players.

a. it is just a minor change per character .

2. There is a utility called FL Charcter Editor with which you can change the looks of Trent and some other characters. It looks cool, but I haven't tried how it works yet (I never play SP anyway so I don't even know all those characters anyway/

Nevertheless, you will remain Trent Edison, even if you change his looks.

(I guess you can find this utility by doing a search in the utility forum; beware that there are also a few other utilities with a similar name that edit player stats)
