Can''t Shoot my ship!?

Hey all,
I have just made a new ship for FL, everything is working great up until this point, I am at the stage where all the textures and hardpoints are done and the ship is in the game, buyable etc. Now.. I am testing it with a friend of mine and there is a HUGE problem, the sheild can be shot down like any other ship, but the hull wont budge from guns. Torps, missles mines, etc can hit it, the hull goes down (VERY slowly) but it does. When its shot by a gun the shot goes right through it, the only thing the guns will actually connect with are my mounts, i.e. Weapons, mine launcher etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It needs a sur file. For this:

Think about the NEAREST fitting ship from FL that comes close - its fairly easy usually - think freighters, fighters etc - including size. If its massive, then trains, armored transports and bships work well too.

Then, once you have done that, go to the freelancer directory, and into the ships folder (data/ships). IN there choose the nation the ship belongs too, and go into their folder. You will find folders for their ship types, so Defender is liberty_elite or something. Go into the folder of choice, and find the name of the ship file.sur

As in
Br_elite.sur (crusader). now copy the file, and paste it into your MOD SHIPS folder, and then RENAME it to match the CMP name of your ship....but instead of .cmp leave it as .sur..

So if your ships CMP file is Primordialsoup.cmp

Then your new sur file would be............. Primordialsoup.sur

Then you should be fine

Bear in mind that this won't work perfectly unless your ship is exactly the same shape as an existing one - there will be places where shots go through you and places where they 'hit' even though you don't see them connect. But it's better than nothing
