Mission problesm, yet again.

Hi,

I have read nearly every post about makeing missions availible in new systems and tried everything on them but i still get problems.

In the system there is:

2 planets, one ran by britonia armed forcers, the other by kusari navel forces
6 mission targets, with mission eligible Corsair patrols running through them.

At this point both planets missions work fine.

I then add:
2 bases, one owned by BH, the other by rhienlander millitary

Both base's and now the kursari planet missions boards say "No missions availible, Too make players viewing the board. Come back later"

I have tried everything i can think of.. dose anyone know what i am doing wrong? or how to fix this?

U need to make mission_targets, areu u using FL Explorer?
If so, u set the mission type to unlawful if the targets in the mission are supposed to be from a pirate faction.

Yeah, i have 6 mission targets. They are a mixture of lawful and unlawful but they're only for police factions.. do you think this is the problem?

Do you have other factions in the system, like enemies in encounters? Try putting some hessians or corsairs into the system, covering where the vignettes are.

I currently only have corsair patrols running throught the mission targets so ill try that thanx.

I've tried everything.. nothing seems to work. Its as if adding a new base stops all the rest from working.. anyone have ANY suggestions i really need the help!

Hey Bud i was having teh same problem yesterday with the random missions in my system......If you are like me and using the FLE program to do the system creation...i will give ya a step by step on how i did it

Step 1:

Create a base and determine the faction in control....i only use one faction per base... saves all the weight confusion issues.. also i think i am not sure don't quote me but that difficulty thing for the base i think might have a direct influance to the difficulty of teh random missions...i may be wrong...but if someone knows they'll post it.......

Step 2:

Creat a "zone population" around the base(s) in question....in the encounters add a scout encounter and do the math for the percentages of who is who...for example...the factions...

Encounter type...Area_scout...... 0.50000

Liberty police.... 0.50000
Liberty Rouges... 0.25000
Lane Hackers... 0.2500

this means 50% of the population will be a scout of those 3 factions 50% of the time the police, 25% rouges and 25% hackers....

add what ever else you want to in the population for the other 50% of the encounters.....

Step 3

Add the mission target zones.....viggnet or what ever they are called....

( now this maybe just me but i added a zone population of 1.000 area_scout encounters in the zone with a faction like the Rouges just to make sure the missions would target in that zone and have ships to target)

Thats all i did to get the missions to work....sadly i have yet to figure out how to add extra factions to my bases but for now the missions work well

i was soo pissed about this for the past few days so i am kinda gloating about my triumphant victory over this silly and aggravating issue....thanks to other modders though and their great advice...

i hope it works for you good luck i hope to hear it did

It sounds like the problem is that there isn't enough vignette's in your system. I would say that you need at least 5 vignette's for EACH base you have. The more bases you have, the more you will need. Otherwise you will get the "too many people using the job board" message.

I think there could be some sort of corruption along the way as the mbase.ini is fine for all bases, so i tried copying an orginal system and renaming it and all its base ect to my new system and i go "too many players on board ect.." Could universe.ini be the problem somehow?

Rite, add few more vignette zones in the vicinity (up to around 20k) of your bases. I usually need 2-3 such zones for each base to make it work correctly.
Universe.ini has nothing to do with missions...

Rite i have a great idea for you i tried a few things

1.) make a system,

2.) make a planet w/ docking ring or a base in general....

3.) add a population zone.....zone type...base_cluster_law...make it additive.

4.) add the mission target zones no more than 20 k from the base

5.) the more target zones the more missions you get to chhose from

this is the EXACT way i do it in FLE and it works everytime...but sadly i ONLY use one faction per base...

give it a shot and tell me what happens
