Problems adding infocard with new .dll

I got the following problem:

I want to add an infocard for a ship but I dont want to edit the infocards.dll, i want to do it with a new .dll ...

but everytime I create a file and name it blabla.dll and i want to add an ids_info etc.. name with FLED it shows me "LoadLibrary() failed" and i cant save it to the dll...

I just did everything, as provided in the Chrisp Tutorial, but I dont know how to create an empty dll file... :\

Look at the recent posts by "KarateKid88" and "ahealy" in this same forum with the exact same problem. Both of them were posted in just yesterday so they're not hard to find.

Uhm... you can't just create an empty file, slap on a .dll extension and think FLEdIDS will recognize it. DLL files have a specific internal layout that makes them, well, DLLs (and not something else, which is why we have file formats in the first place). If you want to build them, you need a C++ compiler.

Erm, you should have also found the links in my tutorial TO the empty dll file. There is only so much spoonfeeding we can do, if you cannot swallow, you cannot live, and seeing as links are in there, or it tells you to download Giskards empty dll file, then we cannot help if you cannot follow the instructions...

Sorry, I didnt find that link to the empty .dll (I searched!) i must be really stupid...

thx guys...

/lol!

in my downloaded tutorial, the only sentence where that .dll is mentioned is "What you need is: A dll - Giskard has provided here!!"

no link - no instruction to download anything! ...
and i actually find no link in there!

oh man, there is no bloddy link

OK, i got the file, for all others searching the **** out of the tutorial for that lousy link -> http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/downloa ... asp?id=765

yay can't wait for all the flames....

Hey thanks for reposting the link to the empty dll
the part about needing an empty dll to begin with was missing in the tutorial...
LOL it was a tutorial intended for noobs that was "simplified"

Hah! someone underestimated the depth to wich my noobness reaches.
