SP level restrictions [noob help please

Ok, I'm not sure if this was answered, I used to visit this web site a while back but got out of the game for a long time....

I've been searching the threads and tutorials but can't find how to remove/ change the level restrictions in single player. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to modding, so I appologize in advance. I was thinking after posting this I'd go check some of the mission ini's to look for what it's saying upon mission completion that lets you level up... and start my investigation there....

If anyone already knows the simple fix off the top of their head, please let me know... or at least point me in the right direction of the thread....

Gread job some of you guys have done with making the tutorials etc...
Way back when I was still playing it the first time, flying my custom 'dragon'? with purple lights, red engine glow, and nomad weaps was fun!

the level factor is controlled by the amount of money you earn.
you might have noticed that as soon as you have completed missions and get cash or sell weapons for cash you get advanced to a new level.

maybe by trying to lower the money required to advance to the next level you can maybe also edit the level.

In what way are you asking? In the misson game? or after? There is an Open SP mod that takes the game missions out of the loop, just money required to level up, or do you want to do away with levels al togeather. A littl e more info is needed.

In the SP story money to get to the next level and which the level needed to trigger the next part of the story is hard-coded in content.dll.

there is a bit in the .inis that looks like it does the job. sadly it doesn't

Ahhh sorry, yes I should have been more specific in what I was asking.

I knew leveling was based on money... Cept when a new mission is triggered, you can't level up anymore till you complete that mission. I was hoping there was an easy fix. So that I could still follow the story, but could level up as much as I wanted before taking the next story mission.

Wow I didn't realize so many people would respond so quickly... much appreciated....

scoped : it is up to you to choose if you want to take a mission or not. you could just reject the offer and then go back to earning cash and also gaining levels.

i will send you a code file "flcodec.exe". this file can help you decode the .fl file.
change your level in the save game file. then re-encode with changes.i shall include all instructions.
