Skinned Alive

It must really take an artist...if it is possible at all.

Is it possible to create a 3D model and texture to account for a "Star Fox" character skin?

Are you talking about the model and the skin, or just the skin? If it's just the skin all you'd need to do is make the texture and replace the existing one inside the MAT file with the new one. If it's the model, well, then you need to make the model, then do the skin stuff.

You'd need to create a model, wouldn't you? I don't think you can create a snout and long ears with a skin alone.

If you are replaceing, say trents apperance, you will need to mod the skin to his skeleton. In the game you can switch clothing, but it does not always "Fit" and there are gaps showing.

Well, I mean if you're going to account for a snout and pointy ears you're obviously going to need a new skeleton...but is it possible to create a new skeleton in the first place? Maybe through LightWave?

Okay, I found out that it IS possible to change the 3D skeleton and add a texture on that.

But how viable is that effort?
