Screenshots

Really sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn't think of anywhere else.
When new mods come out, their designers put up a picture of some areas in the mod. E.G. the TIE Universe, there is a picture of a TIE Interceptor and Star Destroyer.
In these pictures, you never see the HUD display: i.e. free flight, dock, cruise options, sensors, and weaponry. Nor do you see the ship from the player view. If it is on turret mode and the closest ship is the player's ship, there is no reticle, and there is no "turret mode"
There is a similiar situation with the screenshots that can usually be found on the right hand side of the page.
So how do you take these shots?

You edit them first in whatever you wish to utilise. However, Baked takes those shots, he might have removed the hud displays, or the other clutter that comes with them

When you say that you edit them first in whatever you utilise, how do you mean?

Open them in photoshop and remove parts - or just cut and paste the main part.....I dunno - edit them!

You can get a free editing program from a shareware site like http://www.download.com/
The one I like is IrFanView... Its free and easy to use.

Publisher's Description
"IrfanView is a fast, simple image-viewer and -editor that supports all major graphic formats, including BMP, DIB, JPEG, GIF, animated GIF, PNG, PCX, multipage TIFF, TGA, and more. In addition, it features drag-and-drop support, directory viewing, TWAIN support, slide shows, batch conversion, and modifications such as color depth, crop, blur, and sharpen.
Version 3.85 features several new graphic formats, plug-ins, effects, and other functions and improvements."

Enter - IrFanView - in the search box and it will bring up the information page for IrFanView...

If you give me a screenshot, no matter how much ships, no matter how much planets, i can remove them all. Send them to me, if you have any you want edited. My 5 years of Photoshop is behind that. *sigh*

Thanks bakedpotato. I'll have a look there.
Hey Orillion. Never saw you on LR before. If I need any screenshots done I'll let you know. Thanks

if your going for a freeware program for editing pictures, type "GIMP" into a search, it's pretty much considered the best free picture editing program. If you can get a hold of photoshop though... but that's not free.
