messed up ''solararch.ini'' file - can anyone send me a copy

I edited my C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\DATA\SOLAR\solararch.ini file and forgot to make a backup.

It has caused unwanted effects to my game

I am unable to re-install the game as i have lost the install disc and was wondering if anyone could send me a copy of their solararch.ini file via email: [email protected] (it should be small, only around 100-200kb)

It would be a great help

Thanks

You can also download the Freelancer SDK v1.3 incase you mess up any of your files...such as when editing. That way you will have a spare copy of all the ini files if you need them...

I install the Freelancer SDK v1.3 after everytime I install Freelancer which is quite allot. The SDK aka software development kit has a set of all the ini files with all of the original errors fixed so it can make your game run more stable.

Does that include wrecks loosing their items on startup (paralyzer launcher for one) and will all these uncompressed files slow down the game at all?

Its semi believed to speed up and improve the game, although i haven't noticed any effect, or see any reason why it will..........but since it costs nothing to try it, and it fixes a few small bugs in original programming (non fatal bugs obviously - just extra lines here and there - they never caused crashes etc), I don't see no reason in giving it a go. Honestly - it won't hurt, and it might help? (as in might make things quicker - dunno really )

Its faster in that the game engine does not have to decrypt the files before loading into memory so the only speedup you would notice if any woule be in the loading of the game since the majority of inis are only loaded once. More than a few red flag errors are fixed in the sdk and it fixes a few sound problems, system problems, and script problems.
